GSK INVESTMENTS Commitment to Securing Members' Assets

A major hurdle faced by commodity producers, particularly smallholder farmers, is the challenge of securing financing from banks and financial institutions. These farmers often lack the necessary collateral for loan applications. Additionally, the absence of guarantees for maintaining their crops’ quantity and quality in standard storage facilities over time can lead to skepticism from banks regarding their ability to repay loans.

GSK INVESTMENTS addresses this issue head-on by ensuring that commodities stored in our certified warehouses serve as effective collateral for loans from banks and other financial institutions. We issue electronic warehouse receipts (EWRs) to stock owners, providing them with the necessary guarantees as a collateral manager for the physical commodity in terms of both quantity and quality, for a period of up to nine months.

EWRs as Collateral Tools

Our electronic warehouse receipt system plays a pivotal role in supporting financial providers by mitigating risks associated with loan issuance and repayment. GSK INVESTMENTS meticulous stock control ensures that the stock is properly traded and can be utilized for loan repayment. This system not only secures the interests of the farmers but also instills confidence in the financial institutions, facilitating a smoother and more reliable financing process for agricultural commodities.
